- A brief introduction about myself:
I came to Canada for studying, and I have an Int'l Economic Policies degree from Carleton U. Chinese is my mother tongue, and it'd be my pleasure to share my knowledge.

- Conduct elementary Chinese class for a 5-year-old, ensure learning qualities through various teaching methods such as using flashcards, video watching, and educational games and activities. Maintain class discipline on a regular basis.
- Prepare class materials such as daily objectives, activities, quizzes, and schedules in detail.
- Actively communicate with the parents, update the learning progress and class performance, and constantly exchange opinions on the teaching materials and methods.
- Comprehensive teaching in various areas of Chinese, including listening and speaking (conversational), pinyin forming, writing Chinese characters, and reading. Suitable with elementary to advanced levels. Personalized teaching plans and goals.

What is the easiest way to learn Chinese / Mandarin in Ottawa?
Well... (of course) there isn't the easiest way to learn anything, but to keep practicing. Here are a few (very traditional) things you could do to make the learning more productive,
1. Take some classes, and get a general idea of what you are getting into. Know the Pinyin and tones.
2. Once you know a good amount of the basics, read and watch lots of Chinese books and TV shows. And not forgetting the Chinese pop music if that's your thing.
3. If you are confident enough, go make some Chinese friends and speak Chinese with them. (There will be so many mistakes happening at the beginning, you are totally not alone!)
4. Last but not least, get yourself a good tutor so you guys can work on anything that you wish to improve on.

How much time does it take to learn Chinese / Mandarin in Ottawa?
Really depends on your levels and goals. It can take years to truly get comfortable with a second language.
To be very specific, having 2 lessons per week, 1-2 hrs each lesson can be very helpful and productive.
