I was born and raised in northern China, the birthplace of Mandarin Chinese and Chinese culture. I earned my Master's degree in Literature from Shanghai University and have a deep passion for Chinese language and literature, Chinese education, and cultural exchange between East and West. I hold a teaching qualification certificate, an IPA Advanced Chinese Teacher qualification, and certification as a Chinese language teacher from the Confucius Institute.
With over 5 years of one-on-one teaching experience, I believe that teaching is not just about transferring knowledge; it's more about helping you find the learning methods that work best for you. I also optimize my teaching plans in real-time based on your learning progress, making your study more efficient.
Language is not just a means of communication; it carries social culture and thought systems. The power of storytelling is immense, and I specialize in cultural experiences and story-based teaching methods, skillfully integrating film stories and other cultural contexts to tailor course systems for different students.
My students range from HSK1 to HSK7 levels, and while we study classic textbooks, we don't limit ourselves to that. I incorporate dialogues from real-life social situations in China; for example, friends rarely say "hello!" to each other, and we seldom ask, "What’s your name?" Because of this, many students not only pass the HSK exams quickly but also communicate more naturally with Chinese people. I also teach students who prefer not to use HSK textbooks and instead want customized topic courses based on their interests, such as international relations, business, Chinese culture and history, Chinese cinema, etc. We learn Chinese language skills and culture through topics that resonate more with the students' interests. In short, my course design is entirely student-centered, focusing on making learning enjoyable.
I'm a huge movie buff who loves films and literature. In my Chinese classes, we can freely discuss any movie or literary topics that interest you, as well as exchange ideas about traditional Chinese culture and contemporary pop culture. I also enjoy traveling, music, food, and running. If you choose my Chinese class, let's start from your interests to make your Chinese learning more effective.
Based on my teaching experience, once students find a learning method that suits them, they find Chinese easier and easier to learn. I am good at using story-based situational teaching, integrating learners' real lives into the learning process, so that language learning happens naturally and effortlessly
Currently, I have several students in Dublin, ranging from absolute beginners to HSK Level 5. I customize the curriculum according to each student's characteristics to make learning Chinese easier
