I just finished three lessons with the tutor and the experiences have been really great so far. Jia Laoshi is funny and relaxed so the learning atmosphere wasn’t stressful at all. She would speak Chinese with me 90% of the time (but would switch to English or Thai if I don’t understand). I think this is super stimulating and helps a lot with my speaking ability. Prior to each lesson, she would always prepare a sheet containing additional information related to the content of that lesson. I find this very helpful as I got to learn more things other than what was in the textbook. Also, during the lesson, Laoshi would tell me about Taiwanese traditions and culture which I find very beneficial because I got to understand the Chinese language from a perspective of the native. Laoshi is very open to hear her student’s needs and wants so if there’s anything I want to particularly focus on, she’s willing to discuss. Would highly recommend!!
