My name is Ming. I am a native Chinese Mandarin speaker from Shanghai who currently lives in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I have a bachelor's degree in sociology -- so my bachelor's is basically about studying everything about Chinese society -- and now doing a master's degree in Urban Studies.
I have been learning Dutch from scratch recently, so I totally understand how challenging it would be to learn a completely different language. But improvements and progress happen quite often if you keep practicing.
I will customize the teaching based on your needs. It would be best if you have a preliminary idea of what you want to work on and we can head toward that goal together. I would also love to talk with you more about the history, the culture, and the society of China.
Let's work together to improve your language skills and your understanding of Chinese beyond the language!
It's challenging, but exciting!
It's definitely a challenge, in a way! Amsterdam doesn't have much of the Chinese language environment, so it's not like you can easily immerse in the language all day. But still there are quite a few Chinese people living here, and Chinese groceries and restaurant around the city. It will be a challenge, but it's not impossible to find native people to talk to, or find some language exchange program, going to a language cafe, etc.
