Hi, I’m Jekyll! Born and raised in HK granted me a deep understanding of our mother tongue, Cantonese, as well as Mandarin Chinese.
I was graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a BBA degree. Although I do not have solid teaching experience in Cantonese, I did teach my girlfriend some basics of Cantonese and she had no struggles to read from the guidebook with correct tones.
I was once a banker in Hong Kong and recently moved to Estonia to start a small business.

How easy is it to learn Cantonese in Tallinn?
Some says hearing people speak Cantonese is like singing. I do agree with that since we have 9 different tones in Cantonese. Don’t freak out, it’s actually easier than you think. I’ll guide you through the tones and start with basic conversations. You may to jot down what you hear into romanised character to expedite your learning progress. It would be easier for us to switch to Jyutping later.
Depending on the progress, we can start learning character writing in 3-6 months, since I believe speaking and listening would be much more easier than writing.
How much time does it take to learn Cantonese in Tallinn?
Everything needs a routine to practice. I would say at least once/ week would be the bare minimum if you really wish to learn a new language. Depending on your learning path and your depth of interest,
