Hej! I am born and raised in Hong Kong but have been living in Denmark for the last 8 years. I can speak fluent English, Mandarin, Cantonese (of course) and conversational Danish. I have a bachelor degree in translation and a master degree from Copenhagen University. Experience wise, I have teaching experience as a tutor for people who learn Cantonese (or Chinese in general) as a 2nd language and I have also taken courses in vocabulary acquisition and language assessment.
Cantonese may not be the easiest language to learn but I am here to help you with all the problems that you may encounter on your learning journey. Whether you are a beginner ready to get a taste of how it sounds like or you are already quite proficient in Cantonese and only want to have someone to practice the language, I can tailor my lessons for you to suit your needs. As a tonal language, Cantonese can be quite challenging for learners who have not had any experience learning Asian languages like Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Vietnamese, etc. However, there are countless examples of learners from English speaking countries who can speak fluent Cantonese after some time, it all depends on your effort!
How much time does it take to learn Cantonese in Copenhagen?
It all depends on your background and the level of proficiency you would like to achieve. You can have a simple conversation in Cantonese after few months of learning but it will take years to mature for sure.
