Hi everyone, I’m Li! I’m a teacher currently previously teaching Economics and Language. I have completed my bachelor's degree of Secondary Education/Economics in 2023. I speak and write in Chinese and English. My mother tongue is Cantonese and Mandarin, as I was born and raised in canto city Guangzhou. I’m passionate to teach people who wish to learn Chinese. And I think it’s useful and fun to know or get used to speak different languages, so that you can gain more understanding of different cultures. And, you don't want to miss out more opportunities out there. I will offer you lessons about daily talk, pronunciation, cultures and food, develop from simple grammar, words, and phrases to cultural development, and personal development. I have gained my Apple Teacher Certificate and Certificate of Completion of Learning How to Increase Learner Engagement in LinkedIn Learning. And I have several experiences in both teaching and being a private tutor for people who wish to learn English in China. So I can easily convert between English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

It depends on your personal progress and how much effort and determination you put into learning this language. Learning Cantonese and mandarin, like any language, varies significantly based on several factors, including prior language learning experience, the intensity of study, the quality of instruction, and personal dedication. Here’s a general breakdown of what to consider:
1. Previous Language Experience
If you have experience with other tonal languages or have some familiarity with Chinese characters, you might progress faster.
Complete beginners might need more time to grasp the basics.
2. Study Intensity and Frequency
Full-time Study: Immersive courses (e.g., university language programs or intensive language schools) might take 1-2 years to achieve conversational fluency.
Part-time Study: Evening classes or weekend courses might take 3-5 years to reach a similar level, depending on the hours per week.
Self-Study: Using apps, online courses, and textbooks might take longer without structured guidance, potentially 5+ years to reach fluency.
