I am Filipina and a native Cebuano speaker.
Cebuano grammar is very basic and easy to use, but it's very different from English. It's hard to understand at first, but once you get it it's easy. Example,
Ako - I Naghatag ako - I gave Maghatag ako - I will give Gihatag ako - I was given (meaning I was the object that was given) Ihatag ako - I will be given Gihatagan ako - I was given (an object was given to me) Hatagan ako - I will be given

Past tense prefixes can also be used for present tense.

It’s been hard to find resources for learning Bisaya. If anyone knows of any or is aware of language exchange opportunities for Bisaya let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.
