I’m a native Bisaya and Tagalog speaker and have been using both languages throughout my life. Since I am a Licensed Professional Teacher with a major in English, I’ve had the opportunity to work in several roles that have shaped my career. I spent time as a Customer Service Representative for US companies, which gave me extensive experience in problem-solving and connecting with people. After a couple of years, I was promoted to Product Trainer and Language Communication Coach for a US telecommunications company, where I developed my ability to deliver clear and effective training to others. Currently, I’m a Training Simulation Admin Specialist, a role I’ve been passionate about for almost two years, while also working part-time as an ESL teacher, helping students from all walks of life improve their language skills. Through these varied experiences, I’ve gained a solid mix of teaching, communication, and technical skills, allowing me to be flexible in any environment and connect with people in meaningful ways.
One thing I can say about learning a language quickly is that it helps to use it every day in simple ways. Apply it in your daily life— for example, instead of using your native language in situations like "I am hungry," try translating it into the language you’re learning. In Bisaya, "I am hungry" would be "Gigutom ko," and in Tagalog, it would be "Nagugutom ako."
I can say that someone can learn a lot of basic Bisaya and Tagalog through casual conversation in just 2 weeks, with dedication in applying it to daily interactions.
More interaction, not only with native speakers but even with yourself.
