Maayong Buntag (Mayng Buntag) – Good Morning
Maayong Udto (Mayng Udto) – Good Noon
Maayong Hapon (Mayng Hapon) – Good Afternoon
Maayong Gabii (Mayng Gabi-i) – Good Evening
Bai – Bro (informal)
Wala/Wala pa – None/Not yet
Ambot – I don’t know
Ayo – Used when knocking (e.g., “Ayo! Naa moy baligya halo-halo?” – “Do you have halo-halo for sale?”)
Gwapa – Pretty (compliment)
Ku-an/Kanang – Fillers used when unsure (similar to “uhm”)
Amin – Showing respect to elders by bowing one’s head
Libog – Confused (e.g., “Ka libog ba nimo uy?” – “You are so confusing”)
Kwarta – Money (e.g., “Naa ka’y kwarta?” – “Do you have money?”)
Maoy – To throw a tantrum due to heartache (often with beer)
Hubog – Drunk
Bati – Ugly/unpleasant (e.g., “Bati kaayo ka og kamot” – “Your hands look ugly”)

Dili – No
Lugar lang – Please stop the jeepney/taxi (e.g., “Manoy, lugar lang ko diri palihug” – “Mr. Driver, please stop the jeepney.”)
Gay Linggo – Enjoy speaking gay lingo (local twist)
