I am a Beiruti that recently moved to Chicago for law school.
I teach Urban Arabic and which includes the basics necessary to get around in Lebanon and the Levant. The material covered includes Greetings, farewells, please and thank you, and introducing yourself; places, activities, and travel directions; simple numbers and telling the time; adverbs of place; basic foodstuffs and objects; causality; requests; nominal and verbal sentence; and the simple present tense. By the end of our lessons, you will be able to have meaningful conversations in Arabic!
Arabic has a reputation of being a difficult language to learn. My methods focus on teaching urban Arabic — the spoken language in Lebanon and across the Levant. I can also teach formal Arabic but will require a longer commitment.
Urban Arabic is easy. Formal Arabic (fos’ha) is more difficult.
