Marhaban! I am a native Arabic speaker fluent in both Standard/formal Arabic and Levantine dialect.
I have a Bachelor's in Architecture from Lebanese University, but I decided to pursue my passion for languages 7 years ago, and received a Diploma in Language Studies from the University of Sydney- Korean Stream (2017). Yes, you read that right, Korean!
I am currently a private tutor of Arabic, and English, and a freelance translator between these two languages. I have made language learning an integral part of my life for the past seven years, and have come a long way in exploring the tips and tricks of language retention techniques and customizing the learning experience to fit the learner's lifestyle. I started learning Korean in 2012, and currently learning Japanese, future plans include learning Turkish and Spanish as well.
With my experience in self-learning languages, I can honestly say any language is easy to learn if you purposefully expose yourself enough to it, and use as many of your senses to get the language to "stick" and integrate into your being ;) It is simple, but it requires patience! Sometimes people see patience= difficult, but that's not true at all.
So to sum it up, exposure and patience are your keys. Hope to see you in class soon!
It is much easier than learning Japanese in Beirut (my current endeavour). In Beirut, Arabic is all around you in spoken and written form, which helps greatly in getting you exposed to it on a daily basis.
