Afrikaans tutor

I am a dedicated and learner-focused tutor with a strong academic background in English, Afrikaans, and Dutch from Rhodes University. I also bring practical teaching experience from my time working as a tutor during my gap year, where I supported learners across different grades and learning abilities.

My approach to teaching is structured, patient, and highly adaptable. I understand that every learner processes information differently. Some are visual learners, others learn through listening or hands-on practice. Because of this, I tailor each lesson to suit the individual learner, using clear explanations, visual tools, and interactive exercises to build both understanding and confidence.

In addition to my academic qualifications, I have experience working in a fast-paced, communication-driven environment as a call centre agent. This strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly, stay calm under pressure, and adjust my communication style to different personalities, skills that directly benefit my teaching.

What sets me apart is my focus on foundational understanding. I don’t just aim for learners to memorise, I ensure they truly understand the language so they can apply it confidently in tests, conversations, and writing.
