I was born and raised in Vietnam. I came to Hong Kong for my bachelor's degree and graduated from CUHK. My teaching experiences include teaching IELTS when I was in Vietnam, private tutoring in Mathematics for some Vietnamese students in Hong Kong, and teaching assistant for professors when I was studying at CUHK.
I prefer teaching Vietnamese the same way Vietnamese kids are taught at school. We can start by learning how to pronounce and differentiate the Vietnamese alphabet and six tones. After that, how to combine letters and tones into rhyme and single words. By then, you can pronounce all the words without knowing the meaning. The final step is to enrich vocabulary and grammar by studying different words in different contexts. I suggest spending 30 mins every day for self-learning and 3-4 hours per week with a tutor.
It is easier than learning Chinese (I am learning Chinese too).
