I do not have teaching experience or a direct certificate but I am a Swahili native. I learn the Swahili language from primary school up to the advanced level majoring in History Kiswahili and Language.
It's very easy to learn Swahili language because the pronunciation of Swahili words is exactly how they are spelled. You will read out Swahili words just the way they're written and the alphabet is similar to the English alphabet making word recognition simple.
Easiest way to learn Swahili or any other language: first you must start with the basic of language like alphabet, greeting words, phrase and common words like colours, numbers, days of the week, and names of animals.
Second, the student must listen carefully and practice by repeating what he/she hears.
Third in order to develop pronunciation and understanding of grammar and vocabulary the student must read and write frequently.
Last, students must start to speak with native speakers inorder to improve his/her ability of what he/she learn from his/her tutor.
All in all, because of the confidence and willingness of the student to learn Swahili language it's may take short or long time to master the language. But it's will take 3 to 2 years to be like a Swahili native speaker.
