I was born in Mexico but I've lived in Spain, Argentina, Italy, the UK and now in Sydney. My passion for the languages started when I discovered that I could learn to express myself in another way.
I learned English at school and I improve it with conversation practices during my several travels. This language has opened me many doors, and I'm still improving as I never stop learning as well. The Italian language arrived in my life after one month of deep practice with reading, listening, speaking and writing. I've studied for a Master degree in Italy offered in Italian and I've lived in that country for 3 years. My Italian language's level is very good, but, as I said before, I'm always learning.
I have a passion for teaching, I like helping others learn and realize their full potential in a chosen subject. I work well within the academic environment and my experience has taught me that every individual has different needs and some require unique ways of learning, I understand this and adapt well to these individuals.
Students learn step by step, some may acquire knowledge slower than others, some may require a different methodology entirely to help captivate them, but I think with consistency, positivity, and motivation.
I can help ensure those steps are taken effectively in a way that keeps the student moving forward whilst retaining the knowledge gained from previous lessons.
Confidence is a key factor in learning, by making sure that I assist efficiently in the best possible way, I will help build my student's belief in themselves which in turn will help to build their confidence in the subjects I will teach them.
Tutoring experience
I've been a part-time Spanish tutor in London for the last 3 years. I have more experience teaching to adult beginners but I can help with any other person and level.
In order to start tutoring effectively, I will need to know the following 3 things:
1. The personality of the student. This will help to discover how I can best set and more importantly, achieve their goals if the student is introverted (shy/quiet) or Extroverted (prefers to talk, outgoing), if the student needs a slow approach to learning or a faster method to keep their attention. The more detail, the better we can help the student.
2. The level that the student currently has of the subject. If I know the level the student currently has of the subject, including what their strongest and weakest points are, that will allow me to form a more effective starting point and build the lessons around that.
3. The goal in which the student wants to achieve. By knowing the goal I can better use our time by organizing lessons which specifically help attain that goal effectively. The goal could be to start speaking the language, to improve their skills in the language or even just some help to pass an exam. I can help you!
