I grew up in Letlhabile where everybody speaks Setswana, I started speaking the language from birth. At school, it was my first home language and we were restricted to passing it first in order to pass. In the yard school even in classrooms, we were using Setswana, and in the high school that I attended. Even in assembly, we were addressed in Setswana. In matric, I got a merit language certificate from Setswana because I got a distinction. Even my accent is in Setswana and I just realised that last year even though I was raised partly speaking Zulu.
