I have lived in Hong Kong for 5 years and acquired experience in teaching Russian to locals for the past two years. For me, the most important step in learning is making this path for students as easy and fun as possible, filling every lesson with positive emotions and adjusting the pace accordingly. The Russian language has always been a language I mostly speak and in which I think, so there is no impossible request from the student side, whether it is advanced grammar or simple alphabet. Of course, it is always faster to learn language in the country of its origin. However, everything relies on the dedication of the student: with regular lessons, homework and practice at home, the path would not be harder than any other learning. This is based on the experience of my students, who started from zero but now can read, talk and write!

Is Russian easy to learn?

As every other language it requires time, practice and consistency. The reading can be learnt within the first weeks, however, the grammar maybe more tricky than that. Nevertheless, Russian language together with its culture will unlock new ways of viewing things. It is different from Hong Kong and can only be fully understood by learning the language of its people. I cannot promise that it will be very easy but I can promise fun and positively memorable learning.
