Hello there! My name is Natalia and I'm kind of local in The Netherlands as I live here for 13+ years, however I still feel myself as an expat or I should rather say 'an international' :) I've obviously learned and speak English. Did try to learn French, Dutch and Italian and what I can say for sure it's essential to make sure you practice a new language with a native speaker. It's fine to make mistakes as it's a way to learn and improve! What is also important that you know about the culture and that's why during my classes I also speak about cultural differences and why Russians seem to be strange... sometimes :D So don't be scared to start learning a new language, would that be Russian or any other language you like ;)
It's all about motivation as well as how comfortable you are with your teacher. Learning a language (Russian) with the right person is essential and definitely makes it easier.
Would that be Amsterdam or any other city/country - it's all about your motivation and who do you learn the language with.
