I'm educated teacher, and love to customize the teaching to each student.
In Norway I taught English, Norwegian and Math to foreigners, and I translated some of it into Arabic for my students.
I worked with refugees in Norway, and many of them didn't have any school background. Neverthless, the ones that wanted to learn, did it.
Some of my student/refugees were very focused, and they talked fluently after 2 years, other used more time. But all of them understood Norwegian and talked Norwegian with Norwegians.
I also taught some persons outside school. The focus was on culture, idoms and conversation.
I recommend my students to watch Norwegian/English movies for children, read/listen to children books , talk with Norwegians/Englishmen, and of course study, and ask questions.
I have finished a language course now so I know a little bit about how it is to study a foreign language, what kind of question I got about the culture, and idoms and so on. This is really useful and will be added in the lessons.
Is it difficult?
Some will say yes, others no.
I will say if you are able to use 15 minutes a day you will make it. And if you have questions, just ask. That will help you to make it quicker.
The easiest way is zoom and books.
From scratch to level A2 it will take around 50 hours.
