Private Malay Tutor in Singapore and Online

(Online learning + adult learners)

I am a full-time teaching professional offering written and spoken Malay or English lessons. I am a native Malay language speaker and also certified to teach English to speakers of other languages, or TESOL by the London Teacher Training College.

You can start from any level of competency as lesson plans are designed to meet your needs, including conversational and advanced levels of speaking and reading skills. Your lessons will incorporate real-world examples and practical applications and we will find a comfortable and optimal learning pace for you.

To enhance the language lessons, we will engage in conversations to learn or improve pronunciation, enunciation, intonation, inflection, and vocabulary. For example, I can speak conversational Mandarin today because I interacted with people who conversed with me in that language.

In 2018, I volunteered to teach English in Madrid, Spain, to a group of young men and women at Vaughan Town because of my passion for languages, learning cultures, and making connections with people. In the last 10 years, I have had the pleasure of teaching students from Japan, Hong Kong, China, Russia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Spain, Thailand, Vietnam, as well as working adults and tertiary students here in Singapore.

I instruct in an online student-teacher setting via video conferencing. Tele-teaching offers scheduling flexibility that I am happy to connect with students around the world who are able to attend classes during a UTC +8 or Singapore time-friendly sessions. I find that video conferencing learning is especially useful if you are an individual who is looking to develop conversational language skills before travelling.

Please write me and I look forward to speaking with you about your learning needs.

Focus on greetings, numbers, colors, basic verbs, and nouns and practice them on your friends from the Malay community in Singapore. Work with a language teacher who can guide you beyond conversational competency.

Familiarize yourself with Malay pronunciation early on to develop good speaking habits. Practice listening to native speakers or your teacher and mimic their pronunciation.

Use textbooks, online courses, and language exchange websites. Additionally, consider using language learning apps, which offer structured lessons and interactive exercises.

How much time does it take to learn Malay in Singapore?

It varies from student to student. In my experience as a teacher, learners who find joy in the lessons and materials showed more progress and demonstrated competency in as little as three months.

Why learn English from a TESOL-certified instructor?

A TESOL-certified teacher is equipped with effective teaching strategies, ensuring that students reach their full language learning potential. In contrast to teachers without formal qualifications, TESOL-trained educators have a deeper understanding of teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and student engagement techniques. The TESOL certification is endorsed by Training Qualifications UK organization.
