Konnichiwa! I am Naomi. I was born and raised in Japan but I moved to Australia when I was 18, I went to Griffith University in Brisbane and completed a Bachelor of Linguistics and Languages in 2016 and a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching in 2017.
I have been teaching for 8 years now in a wide range of settings including primary school, high school, face to face tutoring and online. If you are a high school student, I am familiar with the QCAA curriculum and more than happy to help you with your Japanese studies.
I love learning languages. I speak Japanese, English, and a little bit of Korean and I know Japanese sign language. I'd love to learn AUSLAN one day. I understand how hard it is to master a language but I also know how rewarding it is when you start understanding another language and become able to communicate with people from different parts of the world.
I am able to help students of all levels from a total beginner to an advanced level student. I am very calm, and relaxed and love to make lessons fun for my students!

Is Japanese easy to learn?
I don't think it is easy to learn Japanese as Japanese has three different writing systems. On the other hand, pronunciation and grammar is not too had compared to other languages. I can make my lessons fun and engaging for each student to help them achieve their goals.
Is it difficult to learn Japanese in Brisbane?
I don't think it is very difficult to learn Japanese in Brisbane since there are a lot of Japanese people and Japanese communities you can join in Brisbane. You should definitely get to know some Japanese people and get as much exposure as possible from native Japanese speakers if you want to improve your Japanese especially speaking and listening skills.
