Hi! My name is Joséphine, I am a French student who is going to spend a year in Sydney as part of my studies.
I am looking to give French language lessons as a private teacher for anyone, from beginners to advanced levels. My French classes focus on two pillars to ensure the best learning: they are based on learning the rules of the French language through culture and are taught in French to work on oral comprehension. Thanks to this formula, progress is rapid and you can expect to have basic knowledge in just a few lessons!
My classes will focus on learning through culture. I indeed believe that it is more effective (and fun!) to learn grammar, vocabulary, and conjugation through the prism of culture. I thus decided to create classes approaching the French language through themes such as French cinema, art, sport, food, regions, or even history... I can also adapt the classes to the student's interests, to further stimulate their interest and learning!
I have experience in tutoring, in particular through the French lessons I've been able to give on a voluntary basis to refugees in France. Furthermore, although my classes will be conducted in French, I am also bilingual in English which is useful when it comes to explaining any misunderstandings the student may have.

How easy is it to learn French in Sydney?
Very easy when you are surrounded by the right people! With my lessons, you will be able not only the learn the basics of the French language in a few lessons, but you will also acquire a good knowledge of French culture. Having knowledge of French culture can be useful afterward to take advantage of the multicultural background of Sydney by, for example, becoming friends with French people or going to French restaurants or cafés. I believe that Sydney is a very multicultural town with a lot of French people which is a good way to improve your skills by directly meeting French natives. Furthermore, through the Internet, France is at your doorstep! With my recommendations in terms of tv shows or films, you will be able to work on your French skills directly from home!
Is it difficult to learn French in Sydney?
No! Learning French is all about motivation. I personally worked with refugee back when I was in France who had no background in French but made great improvements because of their willingness to learn. I would recommend you to search for any opportunity to immerse yourself in French culture, whether through films or series (I could make recommendations) or cafés and places frequented by French people, to make even greater progress!
