Bonjour! I’m Sonia, a native French speaker from the beautiful island of Mauritius, and I’m here to help you learn French in a fun, supportive, and effective way. Having grown up speaking French natively, I bring fluency and a deep cultural understanding of the language. I’ve also successfully participated in Alliance Française examinations and Cambridge A-levels examinations (French and French literature), which means I’m well-versed in the standards and expectations of formal French language learning.
French can feel a little tricky at first (those verbs and accents!), but with the right support, it becomes much more manageable—and even enjoyable. Each lesson will be tailor made to meet the needs of the student. With languages consistency is key! I specialise in real-life communication, pronunciation, and interactive exercises designed to help you achieve your specific goals. I’ll help you stay motivated and track your progress so you always know how far you've come.
Melbourne is a wonderfully diverse city with a growing interest in languages and culture. With a vibrant multicultural community, plenty of language schools, French cultural events, and even French-speaking communities, there are many opportunities to immerse yourself outside the classroom. And of course, with a native French tutor guiding you every step of the way, it becomes much easier—and more fun!
In my experience as a French tutor in Melbourne, the easiest way to learn French is through a mix of consistent lessons, real-life practice, and a bit of fun along the way!
