I am a certified B2-level French Tutor. I pursued a degree in French Literature at UGM. I contributed to the French language tutorial program (A1-B1 levels) in the Faculty of Cultural Sciences for 21 months with 2-3 meetings per week. So far, I have taught 10 students for the 2020-2021 period. I helped students familiarize themselves with the French language and master French in order to reach the required level at university.
Off-campus, I also served as a French tutor for the French language learning work program "Never Stop Learning: Français" organized by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise for the Central Java and Yogyakarta regions. The courses lasted for one week and were attended by more than 50 employees of DJBC Central Java and Yogyakarta. This program is also an implementation of the French Literature's community service program.
1. Commitment/Planning (where to start, how to do it, for how long and how far, etc.)
2. Get to know your interests, start with what you're most passionate about
3. Expose yourself to the language-related topics every day
4. Have a quality time with the language
5. Reward yourself
6. Be consistent, remember the point 1
Learning steps:
- Listen (without understanding): Get to know the sound, be familiar with the accents, and learn how to pronounce it.
- Read (without understanding): Apply what you've learned in the first step, read out loud, imitate native speakers
- Understanding: Listen and read again but get deeper, study the context, understand the structures, and learn a little bit about the culture where language is spoken.
- Speak: Action time! You know what to do.
- Write: Start easy, start simple. Take notes in the language you're learning, release your creativity, write journals, comment on social media posts using the language, etc.
To be able to find the answer to this is to experiment it first; be open, challenge yourself. The degree of difficulty is relative. It's not about the language, it's about you. You know yourself the best.
