My name is Myles, I am a licensed professional teacher from the Philippines. You can call me Teacher Myles. I graduated from Philippine Christian University, Manila with the degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in General Science. I have been in a teaching position for 12 years handling grade 8 and grade 9 students in a junior high school. I attended a seminar on "Pagtuturo Ng Filipino Sa Pamamaraang Ruso." at the University of the Philippines Diliman. I am also a mother of two smart and lovely kids. My hobbies are photography, vlogging, video editing, and design. I also love reading books and watching science-related videos. As a teacher, I'm a very accommodating, jolly, positive, dedicated, resourceful, knowledgeable, and goal-driven professional, with a solid commitment to the academic growth and development of every student. I always prepare inspiring and engaging lessons that will capture my students' ability to think and imagine. My goal every day is to have a positive impact on my student's learning journey and motivate them to learn and achieve more. I really love and enjoy teaching, this is my passion which led me to challenge myself to work hard and learn new things every day that will help me to do my work better. During my class, you will experience a fun and friendly learning setup. I will make sure that my lessons are fun, easy, and engaging using different tools like PowerPoint Presentations, Flashcards, Images, Educational Videos, and Story Clips. I usually prepare worksheets and practice quizzes to evaluate my student's progress. Throughout our lessons, you will never feel pressured. I guarantee you that I will make our class as lively as possible. As a teacher of almost a decade, I believe that no two students learn the same way and no two teachers deliver the lesson identically. I have a flexible style of teaching that can cater to all student's abilities and individual differences.
Filipino/Tagalog is really difficult for English speakers to learn because of some grammatical differences and vocabularies. But with my help as your tutor learning Filipino/Tagalog is simple and easy. My lesson will be based on a specific topic and include exposure and mastery of basic Filipino/Tagalog words, phrases, and sentences.
It really depends on the student's ability to adapt to the language but probably, It will take you around 200 -300 hours to learn basic Filipino if you continuously learn at least one hour per session.
