Private Filipino Tutor in Manila and Online

I have started tutoring elementary students since the pandemic, year I 2020. What I do is, I identify their weaknesses first, before I proceed to the tasks. Usually, I encounter students who are still having a hard time reading English, since most of my students are Grade 1-3. And it feels so good that I always get good feedback from their parents about their children's improvements.

I never thought that I would love this side hustle. My passion for teaching younger students led me to continue what I am currently doing right now. It makes me realize that something will get easier if you have passion and dedication to doing such things. Since I am an undergraduate who is dedicated to continuing my studies in the future, I can really feel the hardships and at the same time, the pleasure of schooling. Maybe that is why, I enjoy teaching and going back to the lessons when I was in Elementary. I want my tutee to feel comfortable. I want them to learn while having fun with my accompany in helping them do their homework.

Since Tagalog is my mother tongue, I want to help and teach people who want to learn to speak Tagalog. Well, honestly I believe it's not that hard to learn Tagalog language, especially those Tagalog words that are not deep. As we all know, some foreigners like Korean and American people, can easily say simple Tagalog words such as, "Mahal ko kayo", "Kumusta kayo?", etc. We don't have a particular accent in speaking Tagalog, so I don't think it's really hard to learn it. If someone really eager to learn Tagalog, I believe an average English speaker with no prior experience with language learning, who's decently motivated and who puts in an hour a day, every day could probably learn Tagalog to the upper intermediate level in 3-4 years. And many factors could make the time go up or down, though.

Frequently Asked Questions

How easy is it to learn Filipino in Manila?

I assume it won't be easy but it won't be that hard. The easiest way to learn Tagalog is to communicate with a real Cebuano-Visayan person as well as someone who knows how to speak and understand the receiver's language.

Is Filipino easy to learn?

Yes, if you are really willing to learn.
