Hello, I’m Michael. I am a native English speaker and currently teach English to adults and young adults at a private business school in Singapore.
I have experience working as an adjunct lecturer and private tutor to international and local students and have taught at all levels including preparation for IELTS. I have a Cambridge English Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) (QCF) from the British Council in Singapore and a Bachelor of Law LLB degree from the University of London.
I plan each lesson using curriculum based course materials and other sources for activities that students will find engaging and can enhance their learning experience.
Originally from the UK, I have been living in Singapore for the past 15 years. Before teaching I worked with multinational companies in Europe and Asia and often draw upon this experience when teaching adult learners especially where they are looking to improve their business and conversational English skills.
I am passionate about helping students to achieve their professional and/or personal development goals and will tailor each lesson to meet your needs.
Availability: afternoons (anytime incl. lunchtime period). Early evenings (5 ~ 7:30pm). Weekends (mornings 10:00 ~ 12:00 or early afternoon), max for 1h lessons.

What is the easiest way to learn English in Singapore?
I encourage everyone to read whatever you can get your hands on. Reading is an incredible way to learn new words and extend your vocabulary. I also believe in talking. It's easy to do grammar exercises or go through worksheets but using the language in real situations by talking with your friends, family or neighbours is a great way to learn. After all language is communication.
Is English easy to learn?
Learning new languages is never easy and learning English is no exception but if you are prepared to give your time and commitment it can be really fun and rewarding which makes the whole learning process easier.
