Hello! I’m Kali. With 8 years of teaching experience, I have a deep passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for my students. My approach to teaching emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, allowing students to explore and develop their unique talents. Understanding different learning styles is critical in my opinion. It allows me to tailor my teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of their students. Each learner has a unique way of processing information and absorbing knowledge, which can affect their engagement and success in the classroom. By recognizing and accommodating various learning styles—such as visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and reading/writing preferences—instruction can become more personalized.
In addition to my formal education, I have obtained several certifications that enhance my instructional capabilities. These include:
Teaching English as a Foreign Language - TEFL
Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia Specialist certification
I’m currently working towards these certifications:
Certified Autism Specialist (CAS)
Certified Special Education Teacher (CSET)
Throughout my teaching career, I have employed a variety of teaching methodologies tailored to the diverse learning styles of my students. My primary focus has been on:
Student-Centered Learning: I prioritize creating an engaging classroom environment where students enthusiastically participate in their learning. This includes discussions, projects, and hands-on activities that encourage collaboration and critical thinking.
Differentiated Instruction: I recognize that each student learns differently, and I adapt my lessons to include varied learning styles and abilities. This includes using visual aids, auditory resources, and kinesthetic activities to cater to individual needs.
Assessment for Learning: I utilize formative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust my teaching strategies accordingly. Regular feedback and reflection are integral to my approach, ensuring that students understand their strengths and areas for improvement. I believe that homework is essential to the learning journey and to my assessments as it reinforces concepts taught in class and provides students with the opportunity to practice skills independently. Assigning homework encourages students to take responsibility for their learning and helps develop important time management and organizational skills. It serves as a bridge between school and home, allowing families to engage with their child's education and understand the material being covered.
My subject expertise lies primarily in Elementary ELA/ESL, and Elementary Math. I have taught students from grades PK-6th, developing lesson plans that not only meet academic goals but also inspire a love for learning.
It is relatively easy, and there are huge tourist areas where English is widely spoken.
No, I think it isn't difficult to learn English in Panama City.
