I am Gayatri Paranjpe who is passionate about teaching English. Teaching is my dream job because I believe that a teacher acts as a guiding light to brighten up the lives of the students. I am happy when I am surrounded by like-minded enthusiasts who believe in me and deem their trust in me. I have always been an avid reader of English Literature. Books are what brought me closer to English as a language and now I want to impart the knowledge of English Language to different individuals.
Talking about my background, I have done my bachelor's and master's in English Literature from India. At present, I am living in Milan, Italy, and starting my life afresh. I feel grateful to say that I completed my CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) certified by Cambridge University and passed it successfully. It was an extremely rigorous and demanding course that required nothing else other than hard work and dedication. At the moment, I am quite keen on giving a fresh start to my career and that is why I feel that I am suitable to teach and educate young minds. I have one year of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor of English at a university in India, where I used to teach 70 students in a class.
I also have a C1 level in English Language which is equivalent to the level of a native speaker. Thus, I can express my ideas and opinions to people in a clear manner.
As a teacher, I understand that some students might find English as intimidating as it's a foreign language and might have doubts about learning the language. I just want to say that English is a language and the idea is to 'befriend English' that is to 'make friends with language'.
Learning English has its own challenges which the students might face but along with that, it is an extremely amazing learning experience. You may face some difficulties that might come in the way, but as long as you enjoy the roller coaster ride of learning English you will definitely excel in mastering the language. I myself was once a student and the easiest way I learned the language was when I imbibed the 'franca lingua' in my own surroundings by reading, listening, watching, and overall observing the language every day. If you ask me how much time it takes to learn English I would say 'practice makes the man perfect'. Just like another language, fluency in English comes with time but as long as you are consistent in learning English and have fun with it, it is a child's play.
It is difficult to learn English in Milan as their first language here is Italian and thus English Speaking resources are scarce. People over here are not that much well-versed in English.
It really depends on how much you want to learn English and how much time you are dedicating to it. As there are different levels in languages, the time it takes to learn any language varies from person to person depending on the learner's needs and urgency of learning English.
