Hello! My name is Martina and I am a Romanian Master's student at Sciences Po. For my Bachelor's, I studied English and Romanian Literature in Bucharest, but I also lived in Estonia and Portugal.
I have extensive teaching experience, working with children all over Europe. I have led Romanian grammar classes in three countries and currently I am helping my Portuguese boyfriend learn Romanian.
If you speak a Latin language, Romanian vocabulary is quite easy. However, there is a bit of work on grammar.
Romania and Paris are very interconnected. We can go together to see Brancusi's atelier at the Pompidou, discuss Eugen Ionescu's opera, or see where Panait Istrati lived.
We can discuss Romanian culture and see where it is similar to French culture.
The Romanian vocabulary is easy to learn for somebody who already speaks the Latin language. However, the grammar needs some work. It is the closest language to the old Latin language and follows complicated grammar patterns. However, there are rules that we will learn that it will make it easier to understand how gender and cases work in Romanian.
