[ Due to COVID-19, I am now providing online lessons through Skype and real-time document editing shared with students ]
Hello everyone! I’m Angela, a part-time native Korean tutor and a recent university graduate. I am teaching several students who I used to teach back in Melbourne. I was a contributor in translating a book on Educational Psychology (related to Functional Behaviour Assessment) from English to Korean. With a Korean mother tongue, I'm passionate and always excited to teach Korean in either a beginner / intermediate level. As I am fluent in English, I'm also confident in teaching fundamental basics to foreigners. I've also taken and passed a Mandarin proficiency test (HSK) level 5 (out of 6 levels) a few years ago. Hence when I’m teaching, I often make references to Mandarin words for students who know Mandarin.
In terms of teaching style, I like to provide students with worksheets I created myself (along with collated materials publicly shared by TOPIK/other language testing organisations) and simultaneously use a textbook for each lesson to incorporate traditions and cultural aspects of Korea into students' learning. Most importantly, I teach Korean in a way that allows easy application of what I teach to daily conversation use.
*Additionally, I teach TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) Exams for my students who have been with me for a long time.
