Hey there, my name is Michaela. I do hold a Ph.D. (University of Vienna, LMU Munich, and UC Berkeley) in History and have been teaching this subject at several universities for years. After that, I established myself as a writing and publication coach.
German is my mother tongue, but I am also fluent in English. Additionally, I speak French and Spanish on a decent level.
You probably heard that German is quite hard to learn, which is more of a preconception. Especially, those with a background in the English-speaking world should not struggle too much. Apart from that, the pronunciation is really easy. But of course, there is stuff that you just have to study and practice - and quite a bunch of exceptions. 😉
Best results are achieved when you study quite intensely. This means, the more sessions in a certain time period, the better. Long intervals have been proven to be not beneficial. It is also helpful to focus on topics you are really interested in and to create routines that you can integrate easily into your everyday life.
