After almost five decades in Germany, I started a new life in 2013 in Montreal following a job offer.
Born and raised in the eastern part of Lower Saxony, I speak a plain German without any dialect.
German was one of my exam subjects when I finished school.
Today, I‘m working in a senior management position in an international organization. I‘m used to deal with people from all over the world.
Having been with someone who came from abroad and had to learn German to live with me in Germany, I have personal experience in adult language training.
The German language is well structured. Once you get an idea and are willing to learn some rules and vocabulary, all it takes is practicing.
That depends on the depth and proficiency you target. Regular use is more important than learning the basics for a certain period.
