I'm a young French guy, who's been living in CPT for 5 years now. I have been working in the tourism industry and I am now also a proud entrepreneur as I launched my very own French bakery! What better than learning French while eating French pastries?
I do believe learning a language is also and mainly understanding its culture, its history, and background.
I love my home country and our culture, and I am always keen to teach about it and learn from other perspectives!
Plus, because I am qualified in translation, I know my way around grammar and can explain easily why things are said and written the way they are, adding some extra tips and anecdotes to it!
There's a very lively and strong French community in Cape Town, with a lot of cultural events involving them. It's certainly easy to find some French-speaking people to practice, either from France or the very numerous French-speaking African community.
Best bet is to use group classes as Alliance Française, but I believe a one on one tutoring and mentoring will get you much faster to being able to speak, write and understand French !
