Under the Ministry of Education (MOE), Jenny has worked as a Primary School Teacher for 27 years and a Programme Officer for 3 years. During her 3-year stint in the MOE (Headquarters) as a Programme Officer (1996 – 1998), she has worked with Educational Psychologists, Educational Counsellors and Reading Specialists to oversee the implementation and running of the Helping Underachievers’ Programme (HUP) and the Learning Support Programme (LSP).
As a teacher-cum-Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) in Ai Tong School (1999 – 2007), she has played the role of a Work Improvement Team (WIT) leader and presented her group project entitled ‘Engaging Learning with technologies’ during the Cluster S7 ICT Fest in 2006. In addition, she presented ‘The JEnny Wong’s English Language (JEWEL) Approach’ to the public during the MOE ExCel Fest in 2007.
As a teacher in Rivervale Primary School (2014 – 2019), Jenny has played the additional role of a MOE Ideas Bank (MIB) Coordinator in 2015. Under her leadership, she has come up with a platform for all the Primary 1 – 6 students to submit their individual suggestions via ASKnLearn. She has also monitored the Education Staff Suggestion Scheme (ESSS) and submitted one ‘Best Suggestion of the Month’ to the N1 Cluster Schools in each month. She has won a few ‘Best Suggestion of the Month’ in 2015. In his farewell note to each staff in 2014, Mr Andrew Mah, ex-Principal of Rivervale Primary School wrote: “You worked very well with the children and you are very bright.”
Jenny has completed 30 years of service in the Ministry of Education and 8 months as a Teaching Specialist at Alpha to Omega. Currently, she is working part-time as a private tutor and a freelance trainer.
