Hello~ I am a certified teacher from the United States. I taught in the U.S. for two years before moving to Korea. I came up with my own curriculum for elementary-aged children teaching English, math, and some science. Currently, I’m living in Korea with my Korean fiancé, and I want to pick up an extra student to tutor on the weekends. I have experience doing zoom classes as well as in-person classes, but my preference is in-person classes. I want the student to be engaged and happy to learn, so my lessons are based on their area that needs improvement as well as activities to keep their attention.
Learning basic English words is easy, in my opinion. After teaching kindergarten for a year who didn’t know much english at all, it didn’t take long for them to understand enough English words to communicate. Then we go over phonics with each alphabet letter, and we learn how to sound out three letter words. After more time, they can learn proper sentence structure, and they can begin learning how to read.
Seoul has many places with things written in English and Korean. I believe this can help children practice their English skills everywhere.
