My name is Stacy, I am a certified ESL English teacher from Tampa, Florida, and really glad to welcome you. I graduated from the University of Florida in 2008, majoring in English Art. I am also a holder of TEFL\TESOL\IELTS certifications since 2015. Awarded as the top best teacher in Guangdong Education Center (from 2018-2021). I have been teaching English for about 20 years, and cooperating with Chinese schools particularly for more than 5 years.
Able to assess and evaluate student progress effectively, use various instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students. Have excellent communication skills to engage young learners in a fun and comfortable environment, depending on the age level taught.
With a variety of different skill levels in every classroom, we must employ effective strategies that allow each student to learn the material. The most effective strategies that I prefer to use during the class:
1) Cultivate relationships and be culturally responsive. A successful classroom is one in which students feel known, appreciated, and comfortable taking emotional and intellectual risks.
2) Vocabulary building. This is an important component of any English class. This strategy focuses a portion of each classroom session on building a better vocabulary.
3) Cooperative learning. This learning strategy is useful for practicing speaking; discuss a piece of reading in small groups.
4) Differentiate—and use multiple modalities. All kids learn better when they engage with the material in multiple ways: Lessons that involve writing, speaking, drawing, and listening
I am looking forward to meeting as well as knowing each student of the class. It will be a great journey for you and I’ll try to make it more interactive and enjoyable and easier so that each student will be happy and pleased. Rather, I am planning activities to develop the creative skills and hobbies of students. I hope to make this year, educational and fun-filled for everyone.
