Originally from NYC, now living in Amsterdam for a few years. Have a BA in French Language & Literature, and a (recent) TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate. Come from a 30-year tourism career but have also tutored English throughout, mostly via translation agencies. Tutor intermediate students via structured conversation lessons (on topics you prefer, or selected by me to ensure maximum progress), grammar, reading & writing, or Business English with a focus on tourism. The first lesson is a free assessment, where we determine your level & program. My aim is maximum progress while having fun at the same time! Hope to see you soon!
Get the right teacher, and learn English in a structured way, with so called “building blocks”. A grammatical concept, vocabulary and exercises. Then practice, practice, practice, also when you are on your own! Start reading simple and then more difficult books, and watch movies and series on tv, especially subtitled ones. If you are somewhat more advanced, you could watch both British and US series, and notice the differences.
I believe it is easier than other foreign languages, but to learn it well, requires focus and hard work!
It also depends on what your mother tongue is; that will make it either easier or harder.
