My passion for language learning and teaching inspired me to move to Thailand and, most recently, Italy. In both countries, I studied Thai and Italian, but at the same time, I taught English to kids and adults. I understand the complex emotions that come hand in hand with learning a second and third language, and I would like to help you improve your English to the extent that you feel confident enough to travel to an English-speaking country, whether it be for work, school, or adventure.
I graduated from university in the USA with a degree in English and Global Literature in 2020. Immediately after I moved to Thailand to teach English as a second language. I am now living in Italy, where I teach English at Bilbò Academy to kids, teenagers, and adults.
Look, learning in English doesn't have to be intimidating. I ask my students to combine formal tutoring with one of the following activities in English:
-keeping a journal
-listening to music
-going to an English concert live
-reading the news
-going to stand up comedy
I can help give you more tools to make learning English realistic and promising.
Learning English takes a little bit of time every day. I recommend setting your initial goal at speaking English three hours per week with a tutor, or a friend, and build from there. Water falling drop by drop will fill even a large pot. Go slowly, and I guarantee, you will get there. The key to English is that you have to get your brain to begin thinking in English rather than translating every word from your mother language to English. How do we accomplish that? By gently surrounding ourselves with English for at least 10 minutes every day and building from there as we gain confidence and motivation.
