I am currently working as a teacher aide in a school, teaching and guiding primary school level students. Furthermore, I have previous work experience as a tutor at a professional tuition centre and I believe that the skills I learned in this position will help me to be a good tutor. I have also studied in Perth, Western Australia for 5 years to complete my Bachelor of Psychology degree. In addition, I have taught multiple students studying for the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS), Aptis test and I can provide my own teaching materials. I have taught adults and children, both local and international. I understand that teaching takes a lot of patience and dedication, but I learned that it is worth every effort because I find personal fulfilment when my students finally understand and grasp the knowledge I am conveying to them. I taught primary and secondary level in English and Science.
Singapore has a bilingual education policy, where all students in government schools are taught English as their first language. However, most Singaporeans tends to have a habit of speaking "Singish", colloquial Singaporean English. They often make grammatical errors and pronunciation mistakes. It is easy to learn English in Singapore if you are learning from the right source!
The simple answer is to practise, practise, practise! You can improve your English by reading aloud and writing often! Speaking to native speakers is another good way to practise your verbal skills!
