Hello! I am a TESOLCert-qualified English teacher and tutor from the UK. I relocated from London to Bologna with my family in October 2021. I have spent the past decade working in business intelligence and anti-financial crime, but have taught English in Russia, Austria, France and now Italy, too.
I have a passion for languages, phonology and love helping others build their confidence and make progress with their English. I recognise that not all students learn the same way. The brilliant thing about 1:1 is that a course or programme of study can be tailored to your needs and preferences - whether you are interested in conversation practice, grammatical accuracy, writing practice or tackling pronunciation or comprehension challenges. I believe 1:1 tutoring is a two-way process: we can discuss and agree on a study plan together (and continue to review it), with the aim of making the experience more productive, enriching and enjoyable for you.
Feel free to get in contact to schedule an initial consultation session. I look forward to meeting you!
This is a subjective question, and of course it depends on so many factors! What is "easy" will vary from person to person.. I would say it's relatively easy to attain a decent conversational level in English, rather easy to converse with other non-native speakers but less easy to understand native speakers because we have a tendency to swallow our words... (I can help with phonology here, as it's a real interest area for me).
I'd give it a year!
