Hi, I'm Isobel, and I'm currently living in the Netherlands.
I am a fluent native English speaker, having obtained high marks at GCSE in English and a Chemistry degree from Oxford. I am widely read and have worked in the scientific industry in the UK and the Netherlands.
I have experience tutoring, proof reading and in technical writing, and am looking to offer conversational sessions and general support, along with basic english lessons and tutoring.
I work full time so will be offering weekday evenings on a flexible basis.
I am based out of Gouda in South Holland.
English in someways is easier to learn than other language due to the sheer cultural hegemony of it, making exposure to english much easier to acquire.
However, it is not so easy to master, having a very large vocabulary and an unstructured grammatic form. This makes in much more flexible than other languages, which makes making yourself understood simpler.
How long is a piece of string?
I'm aiming to work on advanced conversation and writing work. A few sessions of practice and reading can make a big difference if you don't speak english as a day to day language.
