I am the eldest of 4 children, the reason why I am independent, responsible, dependable, trustworthy, and can work with limited supervision. Being a teacher of young children has made me patient, cheerful, and emphatic. I am organized, patient, creative, and determined to help others, young or old, become more empowered individuals by learning a second language such as English.
I have taught preschoolers in the United States for 15 years. I have had students who are Chinese, Korean, Mexican, El Salvadorean, Peruvian, Costa Rican, and Guatemalan who learned basic/beginner’s English at our preschool. I also had past tutoring experience with up to 2nd graders. During the pandemic, I pivoted to being an online ESL teacher to Turkish students—and I love it!
Children learn fast as long as you speak their language—play! So, I would make learning English fun for them—using lots of songs and storybooks, movement, and games. I would also use a thematic curriculum in order to make learning more interconnected and cohesive. I enjoy making lessons and experiences that are meaningful and fun. I am determined to help others become more empowered by learning a second language such as English.
