Having grown up in the city center of Beijing, I speak the most standard broadcast-level Mandarin with no accent. Pronunciation and tone are particularly important in Mandarin learning since subtle variations can lead to different meanings. As a language student myself I’m also aware of the importance of proper grammar. In addition, I have been practicing the art of traditional Chinese calligraphy for 15 years, therefore I can instruct decent handwriting, both with normal pens and with brushes.
It is easy to learn to listen and speak, yet reading and writing can be very difficult.
For starters grammar can be relatively easy. It might take only a few sessions to make daily conversations with listening and speaking. But to really master Mandarin including reading and writing it takes a lot of time and devotion.
