Hello! I'm Davy, I'm a college student majoring in social work, born and raised in Belgium. I grew up bilingual (Dutch, English) and I heard a lot of languages around me too, and that's why it made me interested to become a tutor. I don't really have experience teaching languages or teaching in general but since dutch is my native tongue I figured why not give it a shot? I don't have a lot of college classes this semester, that's why I have some free time. Besides that, I'm also interested in learning other languages in the future cause I have a dream of traveling around the world, and the best way to explore and learn about other cultures is to interact with the locals. Dutch is not a difficult European language. You may ask yourself how well you want to learn it, It’s not difficult to learn the language but the difficult part is actually practicing it. Dutch is an easy language compared to other languages such as Japanese, and Arabic. But, in my opinion, all languages are difficult cause you have to learn a lot of new grammar rules, and sounds. The Dutch language has some similarities to English for example the word "psychology"=psychologie in dutch, but the pronunciation is different. It's hard to answer how long it takes to learn dutch, it depends on the person and what level of proficiency you wanna reach. But with regular practice and motivation, you can learn to speak good dutch in just a couple of months. That being said, I am looking forward to meeting you and be your tutor!
