Hi, I am Roelof from South Africa. I am a 35 year old Afrikaner. My native language is Afrikaans and my second language is English. I have a degree in Business Studies and I have a certificate for teaching English as an foreign language. It will be an honour to not only learn you the Afrikaans language but also the Afrikaner traditions and there cooking as well as culture. I have published 3 books about the Afrikaans language and cooking on Amazon in the past. So come have fun with me as we learn the beautefil language native to South Africa, If it's for work or a unforgettable holiday. Afrikaans is really easy to learn. We will start off with the basic words and then work from there. If you can speak German or Holland's we are almost 70% there. You can learn Afrikaans in 60 hours.

My name is Samson Kefene Mito, originally from Ethiopia.I have masters degree in Environmental Science.My main goal is to teach one of Afrikan language, that is Amharic Language(Ethiopian working language), it is one of the few language in the world,that has it's own alphabet.To learn Amharic language is not difficult,ofcourse it requires effort, once one understand the structure and sound of alphabets, then things will be easier. Besides, it is fun and interesting to explore one of the oldest country ,Ethiopia, after studying Amharic language.It is my pleasure to share or teach Amharic language.

Good day, I’m a South African living on the Gold Coast. I have been in Australia for ten years and love it. My husband is also a South African, so we speak Afrikaans at home. My two boys were born here, they understand Afrikaans but mainly started to speak English when going to school. I have a background in Hospitality but have also done Skills Training. In 2017 I did a Cert 111 in Education Support. I have also Volunteered at a Primary School. I love helping and supporting students. Watching them grow and reach their goals.

**IN-PERSON & ONLINE LESSONS** Am a Swahili lady teacher with over 10 years of experience in teaching British curriculum schools certified by the Teachers service commission. I have a bachelors in Swahili and Geography. My preference is mostly teaching virtually from the comfort of your home. I teach both beginners and non beginners following his or her level and the need for learning the language. I use TPR ie total physical response in my teaching because physical activities strengthen the students understanding they are engaging as well as translation method more so for beginner students. Most learners are visual as it has high memory retention.

I am a trained teacher in special education(sign language). I hold a bachelor's degree from the University of Eldoret. I have experience in teaching various schools and also private tutoring. Learning Afrikaans is easy and it can take you about 3months. We will have fun learning Afrikaans. I can also teach sign language since that's what am trained in sign language is fun to learn because it enables in to be able to communicate with the deaf community. Also, I can teach Kiswahili because it is our national language and each one of us should be able to speak in Swahili because it is the lesson that brings us together as a nation.

The easiest way to learn is to listen to others speaking Afrikaans and to start speaking it yourself.

I’m an Afrikaans South African who lives in the beautiful city of Wellington, New Zealand. Afrikaans is our first language and even though we have been in New Zealand for over 2 years - we still speak, write and read Afrikaans at home. I grew up in the Free State, South Africa and took Afrikaans Language and Literature at the University of the Free State and also did my Honours Degree in Drama there. I have taught English and Photography in the past to children and adults. I enjoy writing poetry in Afrikaans and still regularly travel to South Africa from the UK to visit family. Afrikaans is easier to learn than German or French and people who already know German or Dutch find pronouncing the words very easy. I find that the easiest way to learn Afrikaans is to focus on a specific area of interest at a time, for instance, I may take students to a cafe or plan a specific topic and then explore all scenarios, and humour of course as Afrikaans is full of subtle humour and puns, around the chosen area. This is both fun and has the best success rate in helping students retain the language. I will bring in some necessary references to grammar when it is called for but mainly focus on the conversational element to get students talking as quickly as possible. If you are travelling to South Africa, or Namibia learning Afrikaans will greatly enhance your experience of the culture and help you connect with people on a deeper level. Depending on your goals I believe that between 10 and 20 lessons are good to get started and be able to have a good conversation depending on your own commitment and experience.

I am a second-year Consumer Science student with a great passion for the Afrikaans language. I believe Afrikaans is an incomparable language that is in its own category, thus I want to teach people more about this magical language. I am completely advanced and fluent in Afrikaans, not only speaking and writing it but also playing with words to emphasize the amazingness of this "tong in die kids" language.
