I am 23 years old from Sarasota, Florida. I graduated college in May 2022 from Villanova University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's in Business Administration with Majors in Finance and Marketing and a Minor in Business Law and Corporate Governance. I studied abroad in Milan, Italy in 2019. I am also planning on attending law school next year in order to study International Law or Corporate Law. I am a current Auxiliar de Conversacion in Mostoles, Madrid, living in Madrid for the 2021-2022 academic year looking to offer my teaching expertise and empathetic personality in relation to English Tutoring. I am currently taking a class and studying to obtain my TEFL Certification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) in May 2022. I also speak conversational Spanish as I am at an Intermediate Level and am taking a class in order to continue practicing and learning. In addition, I was highly involved in and outside my university which highlights my passion to help others and my empathetic nature. I was an Orientation Counselor for three years at my university where I was a mentor and advisor to three groups of 22 new students starting college as well as a Special Olympics Coordinator and Member all throughout college where I recruited, trained, and delegated volunteers for Special Olympics' festivals as well as obtained a Special Olympics Coaching License. My interests and hobbies include world travel, movies, humanitarianism, sports, leading, public speaking, snowboarding, outdoor running, soccer, and my Bulldog Atlas.
I believe English is a difficult language to learn, but my teaching style can be described as interactive, empathetic, honest, and supportive. I highly encourage a conversational, open-ended classroom setting or with whomever, I am speaking to in order to promote confidence, optimism, and thinking outside the box. I listen to whomever I am speaking to and always adapt to the needs of those around me. Therefore, I believe I can teach English to those in need to the best of my ability with my native background, experience, and personality.
I believe the easiest way to learn Spanish is to truly immerse yourself in the culture and with the people of Spain. In addition, one must self study and make it an objective to learn a little bit each day.
No, Spanish is not easy to learn, but I have been practicing everyday, self-studying, and conversing with locals and people at my job in order to continue perfecting my Spanish. I believe I have significantly improved since I first arrived in Madrid and can now speak at a conversational level.
